“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
Have you ever shared your burden of complaint about life’s circumstances to a friend? I have a friend who used to say something that I didn’t really want to hear when I was offloading my angst in conversation. He used to say, “God has a plan”.
What my friend was saying to me was that I didn’t need to worry, moan, complain, or fret. Everything was in God’s plan. In God, there is always a solution. If truth be told, I didn’t want my friend to present me with this simple answer to my outpouring of melancholic discourse. I wanted him to step down into the mud of my so called problems with me, and keep me company, while I wallowed there for a while. Instead, my friend stayed out of the mud and offered me a hand up out of it.
Maybe, you will allow me to offer you a hand up out of the mud just now. God has a plan. Remind yourself of that today. What problems are you facing? What difficulties do you find yourself to be in? God has a plan. Every time you feel yourself sinking into the mud of your apparent problematic circumstances tell yourself that ‘God has a plan’!
God is not surprised by the circumstances of your life. He is not caught off guard by them. He is not stumped by the seemingly impossible situation that has come upon you. He has a plan. He has always had a plan for you and He will perform that plan. Keep declaring it, keep believing it, and allow yourself to be pulled up and out of the place of wallowing to a place where you stand firm by faith in the promises of God for your life.
Has moaning and complaining become the habit of my life. Have I stopped believing in God’s plan for me? Has moaning and complaining replaced faith and positive declaration?
Dear Lord, thank you that you have a perfect plan for me that you are performing right now. Help me to believe it, help me to declare it, and help me to walk in the knowledge of it daily.
